Oh Christmas Tree
Thanks to a surprise visit from cousin Chris yesterday, I had company getting my Christmas tree. He did the hauling, I did the tying and I think it was the quickest get ever. I got it all decorated last night and the apartment now smells and looks great!

Dinner
If you come visit me, I will cook for you! Mom's here for her annual visit to the Madison Quilt Expo and in honor of David, I'm putting up a post about food. On the menu was roasted green beans for an app (Mom was hungry), shrimp and grits with cheese and bacon on a bed of kale and for dessert...

a no-bake peanut butter tart.
Of course, I didn't have tart pan so it was peanut butter pie, but it was just as delicious. The recipes and pics are from Joy the Baker, my new favorite foodie blog. Full fat and full flavor makes for some very happy bellies!

My Saturday Morning
The CSA that I am a member of offered a u-pick day for their strawberries and I decided to take advantage of it. It's a little hard to tell exactly how many strawberries there are in the pic below, but I ended up picking 4 ice cream buckets worth of berries in just over an hour (the plastic containers hold 7 cups apiece). A few are going to Julia, but the rest are headed to the freezer, ice cream, my stomach, and I'm going to try my hand at jam. Mmmmm! Gotta love summer!
